The Great Waters
by Grandpa
I have always lived near the great waters. When the Great
Cities collide I am near the Great Waters. When I fly into the gambling
world at the end of time I am near the Great Waters.
But on my way the Waters I must have seen the World. The
World told me who to love, what to read and who to fear;
A crow sitting upon a yellow streetlamp,
A pornographic novel with red inked passages,
My six families sitting under the cartoon stairs in the
center of the room looking out my melting bay window.
Married in a trailer, walking down an eternal hallway.
I rode out of the Land to the Waters. I press myself on
the carhood and look at the Waters.
I can fly I cannot touch I cannot climb
I am in the Doorway.
