Moving in Verse
Haiku You

Also see Haiku for the Illiterate

Ha! Homonyms!

The meadowlark chirps
Ushering in a new day
I miss my kitten

A baby's laughter
The barren wife cries softly
Never broke water

Moldy blue jacket
Reminds her of ol' Grandpa
Huh? These ARE moving!

I misunderstood!
Moving words I can conjure,
but not that moving

Yeah, yeah... semantics
OK, it's time to regroup
Dropping the shmaltz......NOW

I'd rather drink tar
Than move overseas again
Oh, I keed, I keed!

Wooden crates, boxes
Brown paper, clear packing tape
Where'd I leave my gun....?

The door swings open
Empty room....a blank canvas
Need nude chick posters!

Tables, chairs, desk lamps,
Fridge, sofa, recliner, bed.....
Where'd the TeeVee go?

Handy to-do list:
Buy vacuum, pushpins, dish soap,
baloney and beer

Got that "new room" smell
Not like my first apartment
Dead hookers here, there

Technically, they're "dorms"
No college honeys here, though
Just batty old broads

Strewn boxes, paper
A thin, brown menagerie
A khaki landscape

Furniture in-place
Room nearly presentable
Sleeping on the couch

Unpacking the goods
DVDs,...computer,...phone,....
Anything broken?

Boxes, paper sheets
Tempted to build Fort Awesome
Too worn out to try

School's over. Go home.
Close the door. Empty pockets.
Do the no-pants dance
