Welcome the Blue Party

As a reaction to the recent, horrible presidential election, we
here at Evil Robots decided to step it up at notch and get even
more up in America's face about what it's doing wrong. We've been
doing this for a while, but now we're not holding back. Now we're
going after Democrats, too.
While the entire staff of this publication may not be Democrats,
the editors are. Severely. However, we've become increasingly frustrated
by our own party over the years. We have huge respect for Bill Clinton,
but his amazingly successful "triangulation" strategy
has left the party spinning instead of actually showing leadership
and creating smart policy. This is why we at Evil Robots have formed
what we are calling The Blue Party.
The Blue Party stands for the progressive ideals that lead this
nation from depression to global leadership in the last century.
These values were once synonomous with the Democratic Party, and
even within certain circles of the Republican Party. This is no
longer the case. The Republican Party has turned into a right wing
propagandist party while the Democratic Party has lost its nerve
and is trying to win by imitating Republicans.
We are here to end this, and bring the Democratic Party back towards
it's progressive ideals. While it may not be possible to have a
third party in American Politics, at this point we'd settle for
there being two.
Republicans are going to ruin this great country. And we don't
think the pussies ruing the Democratic Party right now can stop
them. Get out of the way, Bob Shrum.
In the coming months we will be further flushing out these progressive
ideals which, we believe, are the notions that founded America as
a great nation. We want to see candidates who stand up for what
they believe in and run strong leaders, not the lesser of two evils.
We want to see candidates who run on some of the following ideas:
- Aggressively oppose non-Democratic religo-fascist governments
around the world - and here at home
- Promote the creation of a new tax code without corporate entitlement
programs and an attempt to re-instill the strong limitations of
corporations that the Founding Fathers felt necessary
- Preserve the Federal Inheritance Tax and stop the shift to
taxing earned income over unearned and inherited wealth currently
underway
- Relieve Government from the burden of overseeing marriage other
than printing the cirtificate.
- Granting the right of civil unions to Every American Couple
- Continuting the fight for an equitable workplace
- Tort reform MUST include jury decisions for all and NEVER limit
the right of an American to bring suit and any party that has
wronged him, even the government itself
- Statehood (or independence) for Washington D.C. and Puerto
Rico
- Giving Voting Rights Back to All Americans
- Promote a equitable and economical health care system
- Working towards a sustainable economy and never forcing an
unfair economic burden onto other generations
- Fiscal responsibility
- Real environmental stewardship
- Fair immigration policy
- Reform corrections and crime prevention
We believe in all of these things, and we feel that core of the
rank-and-file Democrat does too. More importantly, we feel that
these are fundamental American values that a great many millions
of Americans hold dear too.
Finally, and most importantly, we believe in a sincere government
that will always chose actual governance and real leadership over
the bogus leadership of politicizing every possible issue with an
eye towards maintaining power. This, in our minds, is the most incredibly
shameful act of the Bush Administration.
The Blue Party stands for real leadership and the progressive values
made so abundantly clear by the US Constitution.
