Year in Review: 2001

The only new album I heard was Hot Shots Part Two by the Beta Band. It was good, but here's the thing about the Beta Band. They need to put out a best of record, since they tend to have a couple of REALLY good songs on each album, but there's quite a bit of filler.

Now, I only saw this on MTV for a little bit, but the worst idea EVER ocurred this year. Listen up kids: you do not remake a Marvin Gaye classic. Unless you are a hot naked chick singing "Let's Get It On" to me and me alone. Who ever thought remaking "What's Going On" was a good idea was...well, wrong. I'd like to make some sort of threat, but it really just makes me too sad. I heard the original the other day, and it almost made me cry. Not because of the f-ing remake. The song is just that good.
