Grandpa Loves Music

Major Update:
Last month I told everyone to check out my favorite streaming music station, Lounge Radio. If Evil Robots ever had a sister site, this is it. While there is not much to see or do, you have more than enough great music to hear, and an even greater opportunity to hear it. One month ago, no more than three people could listen to the station at one time. But now, thanks to the great people from radio163.com in Sweden, as many as 1,000 people can listen to the mix live from Switzerland. That is progress!

Here is the link, for those who missed it on our front page, www.lounge-radio.ch - it's good for what ails you.

Minor Update:
I wanted to include a review of Dimitri from Paris' new release, After the Playboy Mansion, in this month's issue. But I have been completely distracted by two not so new, but new to me, albums. The first is Rooty by Basement Jaxx, and Is This It by The Strokes. Both CD's have been in heavy rotation in my CD players at home and in the car, so much so that I did not want to listen to anything else.

Since nearly every music magazine in the world wrote about those two albums last year, I don't feel that I need to write two whole reviews. So there!

The Strokes and Basement Jaxx are buckets of fun. One embraces the raw sex and swagger of rock and roll, while the other fucks like a champ on X. By no means am I saying that one is better than another, I could never make that choice (truth be told, I will always choose Kamakiriad over all other records if forced to do so.) Both albums give me a hard-on, musically speaking, of course.

Listening to Is This It while speeding on the interstate, but not drinking or smoking, is a complete let down. Not that I am trying to revive my youth by listening to The Strokes, but I feel that one must be moved by the music, and I am moved to drink and smoke., and I don't do either in the car. I am kind of a wuss that way. I am so sorry.

On the other side of the movement coin is Rooty. That album is about sweaty, hot and fun sex - period. I love going through the entire day at work with dirty sex thoughts in my head. "Come on baby, thrust me, trust me, Get me off!" I am the dirtiest person in my building, and I know it.

I realize that many of you will not buy either album because you just imagined me drunk and sweaty on my bed, smoking a cigarette and saying, "Get me off!" For that I am sorry. But then again, that only applies to those of you who know what I look like (my wife included.) I hope that the readers who do not know what I look like will buy Is This It and Rooty. Maybe you can have arousing experiences of your own.
