Pixie's Random 10
All Shuffled Up

1. Madonna - Lo Que Siente La Mujer
Why do I have this song? This is the Spanish version of 'What it
feels like to be a girl'. First, I'm a huge Madonna fan. I will
never deny my love of Madonna, though she isn't exactly my hero.
I'm born a jew, and I can't comprehend why converting to it is cool
but being born it is downright sad. I like this song. Shut-up.
2. Elliott Smith - Miss Misery
Why do I have this song? Because Elliott really was as miserable
as his lyrics, and honest depression is gorgeous when the radio
is filled with trivial false teenage angst for financial gain. I
like my singer songwriters to really be fucked up, and well, Elliott
can be crowned with his misery.
3. U2 - One
Why do I have this song? I love U2, despite the fact it has to be
shared amongst ignorant north jersey guidos. It happens.
4. Zero7 - Somersault
Why do I have this song? Hey, it's with a dozen Zero7 songs, and
I have no shame in that.
5. David Bowie - Suffragette City
Why do I have this song? Well, a few years ago I was in the drugstore
waiting for the pharmacy to fill my prescription and heard it on
the oldies radio station, and I thought, you know, I always liked
this song...I should download it when I go home. My friend Joe,
who is a huge David Bowie fan, hates...I mean despises this song.
So don't tell him.
6. The Doors - Love Her Madly
Why do I have this song? Doesn't everyone like the doors? My mom
brought me up on her music...unavoidable for me.
7. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - Great Wide Open
Why do I have this song? because Johnny Depp was in the video with
Faye Dunaway, and I'd sell my soul for a night with Johnny Depp
8. NIN - The Perfect Drug
Why do I have this song? It's a great song, though it's from a terrible
David Lynch movie. Lost Highway was terrible.
9. Velvet Underground - Sunday Morning
Why do I have this song? I went to a college in the village, velvet
underground appreciation was unavoidable.
10. Fugazi - Waiting Room
Why do I have this song? Well, it's really my favorite Fugazi song,
and some punk is worth hanging onto even though I'm too much of
a pussy to stick it out in a pit anymore. Apparently I'm prissy
now, but really, don't punch me in the face - my HEALTH INSURANCE
does not cover stupidity (or much else).
If this were my CD collection, this would have played out very differently.
