2006: 7th Anniversary Spectacular
6,000 Up, 1,000
to Go

My
awesome MP3 player is running out of space. I keep shaving off tracks here and
there, but my desire to have every song on earth at my fingertips works against
me daily. It's like a cat-n-mouse game I play with myself - one day removing,
adding more the next. I'm a mess.
To get myself 81-songs short of 6,000
tracks, I added some exciting new albums from emusic.com:
"Light and
Magic" by Ladytron
"The Peel Sessions" by Galaxie 500
"Let's
Get Out of This Country" by Camera Obscura
"Get Behind Me Satan"
by The White Stripes
"Broken Boy Social Club" by The Raconteurs
"Suicide"
by Suicide
"Teenage Jesus and the Jerks" by Lydia Lunch
It's
a rag-tag bunch of music there. Camera Obscura are in top form. The only other
'new' album there is by The Raconteurs. (It's Jack White's side-project.) I'm
pretty happy with it on account of it being short and to the point. It's just
about as long as my train ride.
The rest of the lot are albums that have
been clogging up my wish-list for a while now. The only one I've played through
twice is Suicide's self-titled joint. They are the new-wave band Elvis formed
after he faked his death. I can see myself listening to this album too many times
this summer.
