PSA: Gradpa Discontinues TEEvee Column Because
You Don't Read It
In May, we celebrate our 4th anniversary. This is quite an accomplishment
for a couple of guys who can't pay their bills on time. Since May
of 1999 (way back when) we've been determined to publish things
that make us laugh, think and cry every month. Many of you may have
been touched as well, but I wouldn't know because you never tell
me.
Just in case you care, here are a couple of announcements about
evilrobots.com in 2003. As you recall, last year's goal was to completely
revamp the ARCHIVES for our fans, and we accomplished that in November.
I think these goals are less lofty, so our chances of success are
pretty high.
NOTE: whatever you do, do not mistake these for New Years resolutions.
My New Years resolution was to watch the premier episode of "Joe
Millionaire", and I already did that.
Announcement #1:
Until further notice, my monthly Tee-Vee and Music columns are shelved.
I decided that they serve no purpose.
When Godzilla and I first started this web-site back in 1999, we
wanted it to be a vehicle for our artistic talents, and our big
mouths. For years I drew comics, wrote poems and prose, and laid
down commentary for our so-called loyal audience. For the past year,
I have been doing more of the commentary and less of the art. Due
to a lack of preparation and, sometimes, writers-block, my content
never strayed far from the mundane. Sure, Godzilla and I tore off
some tight commentaries about politics and whatnot, and I told you
what kind of Tee-vee and music gets me off, but so what? It didn't
make me happy.
In an attempt to make myself happy again, I removed the tee-vee
and music duties from my roster for the year. That decision feels
good so far. To make up for the space lost, I have asked others
on the staff to kick up their production, and I have dedicated myself
to more drawing and writing. I think in this, our fourth year of
publication, a change will be good for every one.
We have a large stable of good writers who will give you what you
want, and I will give you what I can. Not that you care, but that
is what you'll get.
Announcement #2:
In 2003, Evil Robots is going to become all orderly! For the benefit
of all readers, evilrobots.com is going to become a regularly published
magazine. Well
.mostly regular.
Beginning in April, each ER issue will publish on the second Sunday
of every month. Sure, it may not be available on that exact day
every month, but we are dedicated to be a regular type of zine.
This change benefits our readers and ourselves.
*Of course, we reserve the right to alter or ignore these changes.
If we do so, it will be without fan fare.
