Grandpa On TV
On The Tube

Note: Yeah, buddy. I am so happy that I watched some of the Golden globes! In the short part that I watched, The West Wing won NO awards. It was so cool. In that same span, Six Feet Under, an Evil Robots favorite, won with Best Supporting Actress and Best Drama! That was great. We here at Evil Robots are huge fans of the show and look forward to another terrific season. But I am happy that the West Wing did not win. That show is worse than Sports Night, which also sucks.

The new season of OZ on HBO is great. I have always been a fan of the show, and this season is yet to disappoint. As in previous seasons, each episode builds up on previous tension, leading towards what could be a great season finale.

This season, the Aryans are at war with the Italians and the Muslims. The Blacks and the Latinos are teaming up in the drug trade. Put that together with any number of juicy sub-plots, and you have a recipe for disaster.

The racial dichotomy in the series seems to reflect the history of mankind itself. It appears that the writers intention is to frustrate the audience by regularly allowing the 'bad' guy to go unpunished for his crime, and even when bad people are punished, their leaders are not punished. Of course, there are those who do terrible things to individuals for no apparent reason, but remain likeable simply because of their smile and charm.

This is what also makes OZ very good television. In every other crime and justice related show, the lines of right and wrong, while blurred from time to time, are solid and well defined. In OZ, as in life, what you see is not always what you get, and sometimes what you get is not what happened.

(OZ is on at 10pm Sundays on HBO with repeats Wednesday nights.)

The Simpsons have managed to become better and better as the season progresses. The season started out with a number of disappointing episodes, but they are getting more creative and more original.

In a side note, my local Fox station here in Baltimore, WBFF TV-45, has started showing The Simpsons daily at 7:30pm. I am so damn lucky because now I can watch repeats again! Godzilla has asked me to express his rage with WTTG-TV (channel 5) in Washington, DC for replacing the 6:30 Simpsons with the unacceptable King of the Hill. He has considered murder as a solution since he does not get home to see the 6 PM showing of The Simpsons. He does not get home from until 7 and has stated that replacing the retarded Seinfeld at 7:30 with The Simpsons would avert "a lot of motherfuckers getting shot over on Wisconsin Avenue".

(The Simpsons is on Sunday nights on Fox at 8pm.)

I never want to watch Malcolm in the Middle. Whenever I see an add for the show, I think of something else better that I could do with my time, but whenever I watch Malcolm in the Middle, I love it.

I don't know what it is about the show that makes me not want to watch it. Take, for example, The West Wing. That show looks dumb in the ads and on tee-vee - and I hate to watch it. In truth, most every show on NBC/CBS/ABC are garbage, but that is to be expected. I suppose that my knee-jerk reaction is to think a television show will be terrible. That must be a gift from the creator.

(Malcolm is on Sunday nights on Fox at 8:30pm)

Why will I not watch Adult Swim? Because the Baby Freekin' Blues in on Adult Swim. As long as that crap show with crap theme music (in case you forgot, the theme music is by the Barenaked Ladies. They are a sucky band from Canada that sucks. Some people like them, but they are stupid.)

When the Baby Freekin' Blues is gone, I will return to loving Adult Swim and all it's wonderful cartoons.

(Adult Swim is not longer on tee-vee, as far as I am concerned.)

That 70's Show is funny and well acted and makes me laugh week after week.

But, That 80's Show is for morons.

(That 70's Show is on Tuesday nights on FOX at 8pm, just before Undeclared.)

ManCow is a idiot. How does he fit into the Fox and Friends demographic? I guess because he is from the mid-west and…wait! That is not a excuse!

The Winter Olympics is great tee-vee, so watch it.

Seriously, what I love about the Olympic Games is that even the worst competitor is the best in his country. So the people we see compete are the best the world can offer, collectively. So, if you are able to rise about NBC's touching stories, and the fact that they hype up specific athletes in pre-taped events who have already lost their event, then you can be free to enjoy the Olympic for what they really are all about, and that is sport.

Today, while I took a break from writing, I watched an American set the world record in the 5000m speed skating event. He was not the best racer coming in, he just picked the right time to be great. But the best part of the segment was when the Dutch skater set another world record time only three heats later! Not that I rooted for the American to lose, it would have been a better story because we never ever win in that event, but the pure sport of it all gave me a good feeling.

Also, I cannot wait for the curling! USA! USA! USA!

(The Winter Olympics is being televised by NBC.)

Law and Order is getting stupid. I thought about writing more about this, but I am too embarrassed for the writers. The show is going downhill.

I guess when you have three identical shows, you run out of ideas quicker.
