Another year has come and gone, and the NHL Playoffs
were missed by just about everyone. The ratings for the Stanley
Cup Finals were as bad as the XFL. C'mon people! How is it that
more people don't watch Hockey? Game Seven in the Cup Finals is
the ultimate single elimination game aside from the World Cup Soccer
Finals. Just terrible. You people should try better next year.

I have HBO now at home. I have watched most of the
Sex in the City episodes and Six Feet Under. While SITC is more
interesting than good, it is always fun to pretend that I am a screwy
New Yorker every once in a while - kind of like when I watch Seinfeld
or The West Wing. Those are shows that people like because it they
are easy to like, while Six Feet Under is constantly asking me to
hate it. (I am often confused by my own thought process, so I won't
bother explaining myself.) The actors and their scripts are terrific.
But what I find most interesting is the set design and costuming.
The characters roam about in their bleak and disturbed lives in
very muted colors and pleasant sets. Of course, as funeral directors,
their life is making death a less bleat and disturbing experience
for the living. Had the show been shot on a soundstage or in NYC
with designer labels, one could never being to trust the honesty
in the show. It is simply terrific.

This spring, the Simpson's was great. You should spend
the rest of the summer watching it over and over again. Mmmmm
.

This spring, Futurama was locked into a terrible time
slot right in front of a terrible show. This must stop!

I saw a commercial for an Emeril Live show that is completely absurd!
The show was taped in a large, full, concert pavillion in Chicago.
I must see this! What kind of show gets a few thousand people to
watch a man cook? That is insane. I will watch it and give you notes
in the next issue.

I regret to say that I have not been watching Mr. Factor as much
as would like. He is at the top of his game and getting better.
I am confident that even now, as you read this, Bill is keeping
it real. Word.

Cartoon Network had a Bugs Bunny Marathon recently. Cartoon Network
should do that more often. I remember a few years ago when Nick
at Night ran a weekend long I Love Lucy marathon. A marathon puts
the beauty of the show in perspective. The marathon format allows
the viewer to observe evolution of a show, which is very hard to
do without seeing the show in it's original run. I think Cartoon
Network should run a Laugh Olympics and SuperFriends marathon. I
would quit my day job to see that.

BootCamp on Fox? Crap.
SpyTV on NBC? Crap.
Survivor II on CBS? Crap.

Fox and Friends on the Fox 'News' Channel? Awesome!

Shows to watch this month:
Do yourself a favor. Watch the Simpsons on Sunday nights and nothing
else. Go outside and enjoy the summer (or winter.) I will stay inside
and watch TV for you, OK?
