Grandpa On TV
On The Tube

On September 11th I watched a lot of TEEvee. Bigfoot and I sat together at home glued to the tube, ingesting image after image of death, sorrow and destruction. Every story of the dead and missing broke my heart. Every moment passed slowly and over and over again, building sorrow upon sorrow in my heart until I could watch no longer. I slept and did not dream. I woke up and watched more TEEvee.

I primarily watched the ABC News coverage of the death and destruction. Peter Jennings did a bang-up job. I like getting bad news from him.

The greatest TEEvee show I watched in September was a mysterious Saturday morning show on BET called "Hooker Hunter." This black guy, dressed up like the Crocodile Hunter, is filmed harassing male and female prostitutes on the streets of Washington DC.

The one or two minute segments are shown between videos.

This must be the greatest Saturday morning television show ever! I could watch that forever.

Basically, I did not watch TEEvee this month for reasons not related to baseball or terrorism. I had trouble watching any show for more than a few minutes. I did not think that my favorite shows were trite or meaningless in light of the tragedy, I just did not feel like doing my normal extensive research this month.

Things to watch this month:

  1. Major League Baseball Playoffs - need I say more?
  2. The NHL on ESPN
  3. Fox and Friends - they have Ollie North on now. With Ollie and Mancow on every monring, why watch anything else?
  4. Temptation Island II - Can it live up to it's potential?
  5. Undeclared - underage drinking and casual sex in prime-time!
