Grandpa On TV
On The Tube

Off Centre - Please forgive me!

I screwed up last month. I said that Off Centre was on at 10pm. That is wrong. The premiere showed at 10pm on my cable system, but was changed to its regular time of NINE Pee-Em (that's 9 o'clock, otherwise known as Twenty-one hundred hours.)

!!!REMEMBER TO WATCH 'OFF CENTRE' ON THE WB AT 9 PM ON SUNDAY NIGHTS. IT'S A BAD TIME SLOT, BUT THE SHOW IS GREAT! YOU WILL THANK ME LATER!!!

I read the tee-vee ratings printed in the Washington Post every week. I am disappointed every week at the poor ratings Off Centre is getting. Hopefully, the loyal readers of Evilrobots.com will become ratings families in time to make this show a super hit!

Of course, if that happens, Off Centre and Iron Chef will be the two highest rated shows on television. But that is not a bad thing.

Oh yeah, Home Movies is the best show on TV right now. The entire 'Adult Swim' line-up on Cartoon Network is commendable. This is the kind of me-friendly programming I prayed for every time I saw Scrappy-freekin'-Doo or the Flinstone Kids on tee-vee.

What the hell happened to Futurama? I know where to get miniature Futurama toys for Christmas, but I can't watch the premiere until December 9th! Give me a break!

The Simpsons is still great and I can't get enough. I laughed so hard tonight that my heart stopped twice.

O'Reilly vs. Russert. (I can always dream.)

Over the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend, I say Tim Russert interview Mr. O'Reilly Factor about his new book. Why did Mr. Factor resist the urge to arm wrestle Tim for Tee-vee supremacy? We all know that Mr. Factor would have kicked Tim's butt, right? I would have loved that.

Then Mr. Factor would go to Larry King's house and shove him in a locker.

Am I the only one who equates the return of 'Ab-fab' to Comedy Central with the end of a once great and funny network? No Craiggers, no Joel and the 'bots, and no more stand-up comedy. At least when MTV decided to stop playing videos, it created another network for total music immersion. There is nothing funny on Comedy Central anymore. 'Strangers with Candy' was the last great attempt at hilarity.

Take Busta Rhymes 'Genesis' video, for example. I have seen it a few times on MTV2. The video is strange, but also super cool. Had MTV not created a network dedicated to satisfying music (not just pop-celebrity) fans, one would never get a chance to see it.

Right now, Comedy central is no longer the place where new funny comedians can be found and exploited. BET is the stand-up comedy Mecca.

That is pathetic.

I can't tell if I am getting older or just crabbier.
