Who am I?
Text of the sermon given from the Pulpit
of the Fun Lovin Church, Schenectady, NY
"Who am I?" For thousands of years, humans have
been asking themselves this question. Can you think of a more
ignorant question?
How could one spend all day with themselves and have
no insight into who they are? This is not possible. While the average
person cannot see his or her own ears, they most certainly do
know who they are. While some waif around asking silly questions
about themselves, it is not from a lack of understand, no. These
trouble makers are possesed by fear.
For who among us has yet to look in a mirror today? None!
And who has looked in the mirror today only to find a stranger?
Again...no one!
We see exactly what we saw the evening before and what we
will see every day here after. But one might then say, That
is only the outside, I need to find the person inside me,
in an attempt to confuse themselves. To these people I give this
one piece of wisdom--
The one who dwells inside us is no different from the one
who dwells as us in the flesh!
We use our eyes to look at ourselves in the mirror. Correct?
But what do we use to see what is "inside"? Our eyes cannot
see inside. No! But we are not born with merely eyes to see. We
are born with our ears and our eyes and all of our senses.
Together they reflect off of the mirror in our minds and
create an image which we can see without the aid of our eyes. This
image is always confused by societys standards set for the
observation of the human body. Thus, we judge the inside as we do
the outside, and in the end we have nothing but darkness between
them, and then who we are is unfortunately misunderstood.
Until now, man and woman feared internal observations because
of these frail human standards.
In order to understand the truth about yourself you must
reject the artificial mirror which judges the image in your eyes
and take yourself into your entire self as you are meant to.
Lick your skin and hair!
Look at your ears and your back!
Smell your mouth!
Touch, with your finger, your retina!
Curl yourself into a ball on the floor and digest yourself!!!
You will like what you taste!
Every smell will please you! You will become a god to yourself!
Worship your body! Do not allow the standards of other humans distract
you any longer!
Share your discovery with your loved ones! Ask them to taste
your being!
Love all that you are born to love!
In this activity will you set yourself free!
